Lib Dems at Manchester Pride

The Liberal Democrats would like to thank everyone who gave us such a fantastic receiption at Manchester Pride 2018.

Our campaign in support of reforming the Gender Recognition Act to allow members of the Trans community to formally change the gender on their birth certificates was extremely well received. The proposed changes will remove the anomally of having the wrong sex recorded on a person's birth certificate, and is something that should have happened a long time ago.

Sir Vince Cable, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, said at a recent meeting that

There has been a lot of nonsense spoken about these changes, but for the record, we have yet to find a single case in which a woman has been asked to show her birth certificate before being allowed to go to the toilet.
