Cllrs Northwood and Good and John Bridges at a construction site

Our Labour run city council time and time again approve new developments that break their own rules on affordable housing.
Despite the continual boom in flat building in the city centre and South Manchester, we’re increasingly seeing a focus on ‘luxury apartments’ primarilly marketed to overseas buyers, and Labour let developers off if they claim it'll hit their profit margin too much.
To begin to fix this, if a development is not commercially viable without hitting the affordable housing goal, then the council should refuse to approve it.
Please sign our petition below so we can show Labour the strength of feeling on this matter amongst us, their neglected constituents.

Affordable Housing Petition

We, the undersigned, demand that Labour follow their own rules and insist on at least 10% affordable housing in all new developments
