Stand with Syrian Refugees

In 2016, John Leech uncovered that Manchester still hadn't accepted a single Syrian refugee under the government's resettlement scheme despite the war-torn region enduring one of the worst crises for decades.

John Leech demanded Manchester Council commit to housing at least 50 Syrian refugee families and as many unaccompanied children as possible but the council has been vague and uncommitted in their response.

Two years on, and nothing has changed.

Just two out of Manchester's 96 councillors have agreed with the demands to take refugees.
