Richard Kilpatrick, Lib Dem candidate for Manchester Withington

Richard moved to Manchester in 2013 and lives in Didsbury, South Manchester. He has worked in communications and campaigns for 10 years after working in education. In 2018, Richard was first elected as City Councillor for Didsbury West ward on Manchester City Council. He was elected again in 2023. Richard is the Liberal Democrat Finance Spokesperson in Manchester.

Alongside over a decade of community activism in his Didsbury community, Richard works on campaigns highlighting the impact of Brexit on the United Kingdom.

At the heart of his community, Richard has a record of delivery in South Manchester. He is a local charity trustee, Councillor, and activist.

Richard has worked alongside me for a decade. Every day I see how passionate he is about our community and how dedicated he is to standing up for South Manchester.

Cllr John Leech (Former MP for Manchester Withington)

Richard is standing for the Liberal Democrats to give people an alternative to a Labour Party in Manchester who take people for granted. The Conservatives can't win in here. Only the Liberal Democrats have beaten the Labour Party in Manchester Withington.

It means that you have the chance to vote for an MP who will stand up for our area. You can vote for an MP who is active and visible in our community. An MP that you can trust will keep in touch all year round and put South Manchester first.

Richard's priorities:

  • Real help with the cost-of-living crisis
  • Clean up the river Mersey
  • Action on climate change
  • Fix our NHS
  • Save our local businesses
