South Manchester MP John Leech has praised local people for their donations to Key 103’s “Mission Christmas”.
Using his office as a donation point, and holding a Christmas Carol concert last night, John has received over 150 presents worth more than £1500
John said today, “I know money is tight for some people, especially at Christmas. It makes me proud that local people and businesses have dug deep to donate over 150 toys to “Mission Christmas”, worth around £1500'
Mission Christmas is a project aiming to see as many children as possible have a happy Christmas. Last year they delivered more than £1.3 million worth of presents to children in Manchester. However, there is still one in three children living in poverty in Greater Manchester, the fourth highest levels of child poverty in the country. This year the mission was to ensure every child in Manchester wakes up with a present on Christmas day!
