Cladding scandal

The cladding scandal has left 1000s across Manchester trapped in unsafe buildings and facing bills of £10,000s to cover waking watches, fire alarms, hiked up insurances, and the cost of putting right something that they played no part in causing.
The Liberal Democrats believe it's unfair that leaseholders are left responsible which is why we have introduced an amendment in the Lords to the Building Safety Bill which removes the responsibility from leaseholders to pay these bills.
The Manchester Liberal Democrats support the 10 demands of the End Our Cladding Scandal campaign and call on the government to back the amendment to take an important step on ending this injustice.
